What is WIDI?

WIDI is an innovative app designed to help individuals take charge of their own posthumous affairs before they die, easing the burden on family, giving you peace of mind. Through WIDI, you can organize important documents and instructions as well as build your ‘life montage’ memories for loved ones.

Why You Need WIDI

Dealing with the death of a loved one is an emotional and overwhelming experience. Beyond the grief, families face a daunting administrative burden. Sorting through a loved one’s estate involves more than just accessing a Will. It means organising a funeral, closing accounts and subscriptions, accessing social media accounts, notifying organizations as well as contacting family and friends around the globe. The process can take months, be very stressful and can leave many things inaccessible to family due to not having the correct information such as passwords to various accounts.
WIDI is here to change that.

How does WIDI work ?

You sign up then allocate ‘initiators’ that will only be able to access the Initiators page after you have died. You organise your affairs, build you life montage , pre-type emails to administrative organisations, family and friends . When you have passed and your family receive your death certificate, an initiator can simply open your WIDI initiator page and type in your death certificate number. Once submitted, it gets cross-checked by the Registry of Births, Marriages and Deaths, then once confirmed,ALL emails and documents in the ‘Live’ folders get sent out simultaneously without the initiator, or anyone else, know who or what was sent. It is extremely secure, private and discreet.

BEING AN INITIATOR

A WIDI user requires an initiator to enter the Death Certificate Number (DCN) onto the Initiator page, in order for all user’s emails and documents to be ‘starburst’ out to all recipients.

An initiator should be a family member, a close friend or Next of Kin. The initiator takes on the responsibility of entering the DCN as soon as able to do so.

It is important for the WIDI user to understand that the more initiators they have, the greater the chance of having their account actioned sooner rather than later, should another initiator be unable to do so at the time.

It only requires just one initiator to do this and it doesn’t matter which initiator access the WIDI page first. Once initiated, there is no requirement for any further action by the other initiators.

HOW TO USE WIDI

STEP 1

Click on ‘Create an account today’ and follow the prompts.

STEP 2

Think carefully as to who you choose to be initiators. WIDI recommends several members of your family as well as friends, although it only takes one person to initiate the initiation, the more the merrier.

STEP 3

If you think you will be loading up a lot of photos and videos, select the appropriate storage option.

STEP 4

Select folders from the suggested list. You can add as many folders as you need and label them accordingly. Think about the types of different groups you would need to inform of your passing. These could be administrative folders, family and friends, social media and/or passwords etc, all to be emailed to various recipients.

STEP 5

Start composing letters and emails to family and friends and save them in the folders. Remember; and emails and documents you place in the ‘pending’ folder will not be included in the ‘starburst’ of emails if the account is initiated with the DCN entry.

STEP 6

Have fun formatting your Life Montage of photos and video. Add music to it and save it in the Life Montage folder that has a unique QR code you can attach to emails or to be place on your headstone.

STEP 7

Take advantage of the ‘Time Delayed Post’ (TDP) and start listing anniversaries or other special occasions you would like people to receive a message from you on their special day.

STEP 8

As you remember old friends, and perhaps old lovers, you can create emails and save them in a ‘Discreet’ folder. These too will be sent automatically once initiated and no-one will know to whom or what was sent.

STEP 9

Your WIDI account will grow over time and can be edited at any moment. You and your initiators will be emailed a reminder once a year, to check your Live folders are still up to date and ready to be sent.

STEP 10

You have a lifetime of digital storage available so there are no limits of data use.
